The Cabarrus-Rowan Metropolitan Planning Organization (CR MPO) has published for public review the 2024-2027 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) Conformity Analysis and Determination Report, 2024-2027 Metropolitan TIP, and any 2050 Metropolitan Transportation Plan Amendments. This information will be available for public comment for thirty days (February 20, 2023 – March 22, 2023).
The CR MPO has also published for public review the targets for pavement and bridge conditions, travel time and truck freight reliability, and CMAQ Performance Measures, which are consistent with measures established by the NCDOT. These Performance Measures will be available for public comment from February 20, 2023 - March 22, 2023.
The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) continues to mandate the certification of the transportation planning process in Transportation Management Areas (TMAs) at least once every four years by the Federal Highway (FHWA) and Federal Transit Administrations (FTA). The purpose of the Cabarrus-Rowan Metropolitan Planning Organization (CR MPO) certification review is to determine if the transportation planning process being conducted in the area meets the Federal requirements as listed in 23 CFR 450 Part C. The FHWA and FTA are seeking public comment and review of the planning activities and procedures.
A thirty day public comment period will begin on Monday, February 20 and conclude on Wednesday, March 22. Anyone wishing to provide written comment should send them to Loretta Barren of the FHWA at Loretta.Barren@dot.gov
