USDOT Certification Review, Rider Transit Program of Projects, Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CTP) Amendments, 2050 MTP Goals and Objectives

The Cabarrus-Rowan Metropolitan Planning Organization (CR MPO) has published for public review the City of Concord’s Program of Projects (POP) for the Rider Transit System, amendments to the Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CTP), and the 2050 Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) Goals and Objectives. This notice satisfies the public participation requirements for the City of Concord’s POP including the notice of public involvement activities and time established for public review and comment. If no substantial comments are received during the public comment period on the POP, then the MPO and City of Concord will certify the POP as the final program. The information will be available for public comment for twenty-eight days (July 13, 2020 – August 10, 2020).  Copies are available for review on the MPO website as well as the CK Rider Transit Center and Cabarrus County Planning Office both in Concord and the Rowan County Planning Office in Salisbury.

The Federal Highway and the Federal Transit Administrations are conducting a review of the Cabarrus-Rowan Metropolitan Planning Organization (CR MPO) planning process and they are is also seeking public comment and review of the planning activities and procedures. Every four years, the Federal Government Highway Administration (FHWA) and the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) conducts a certification review to determine whether the CR MPO follows a continuing, cooperative, and comprehensive transportation planning process. A thirty day public comment period will begin on Monday, July 13 and conclude on Wednesday, August 12.
